​#1. A dramaturg is the expert in the room who understands story, structure and everything about your script's world and characters.

#2. They act as a second eye, giving you feedback as you work. They know how to ask the right questions to help you continue the writing process effectively.

#3. They also act as a bridge between you and your audience. That could be a manager, agent, a reader, actor, producer director or the end audience. They are like a diplomat that let's you know how your piece is presenting and communicating to the end user.
