About
Hi. Meet Susanna...
... a Canadian woman who grew up on the prairies of Alberta, loves the mountains of the Rockies, and currently lives near the ocean in her home on beautiful Vancouver Island.
She loves the arts (music, dance, drawing, painting, theater), and spends a good amount of time in nature photographing its wonders.
She became a mother at 18. By 31 she was a single mother of 6 children (3 girls, 3 boys).
Being entrepreneurial she ran her own cleaning company whilst raising her children and writing and composing the stories that would occupy her mind.
She gained her education slowly doing upgrading, university preparation, then her first year BA. She was accepted for an honors double major at the University of Alberta but family responcibilities did not allow for the rigourous schedule.
She turned instead to part time studies and began the Arts and Cultural Management program at Grant McEwan College in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. There she took two screen writing classes and knew this was for her.
When her last child left home to serve a mission she began full time studies at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre with an emphasis in play and screen writing.
There she began the Writer’s Circle to support script writers in their writing process. Having a genuine love for the writer, she still provides this free service online today.
Susanna became an award-winning author and went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts in Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media from the prestigious Royal Central School of Speech and Drama with London University in London, UK.
Susanna has taken the best of her learning and experience and developed a process for writing that she has turned into a Script Writing Foundations 101 course. It is a blend of writing, acting, directing, and dramatugical techniques. She uses this combination of processes in her own writing and with students and clients alike.
Her latest produced work, “It’s Not Haunted,” is a short film that will premiere at Zion’s film festival in February 2026. She has just finished writing a feature film for a client called “Irresistible.” She is a prolific writer with many shorts, features, plays, and T.V series available to option or buy.
Her personal writing style has been described as “heartwarming heartbreak.” Her funny bone tends to emerge as she simultaneously rips your heart out. Her characters are grounded, funny, and relatable yet often navigate gut- wrenching circumstances.
Her greatest joy is her children who are also very talented and kind humans beings.
